Hi Cursor team and community,
Just wanted to chat about something I noticed with Premium requests. I’m a paying member ($20/month, 500 high-quality requests), and love Cursor! But I’m a little curious about how the “unlimited premium” thing works after the initial 500.
So, I used up my 500 fast premium requests, and things definitely feel slower now. Looking at my request count, it seems like it’s counting requests against models like gpt-4o-mini
or cursor-small
(or something similar – the feel is different). I’m still using Cursor normally, expecting that premium experience, you know?
Just wondering if I’m understanding this correctly:
- After the first 500 “premium” requests, does Cursor switch to using models like
gpt-4o-mini
orcursor-small
? Is that the intended behavior for “unlimited premium” after the initial faster ones? Just want to make sure I’m not missing something. - Is it normal for requests to then count against these different (and slower) models, even if we’re still using Cursor in the same way? Maybe I’m misunderstanding how the request types are tracked.
- The “unlimited premium” description made me think of continuously fast, high-quality access. Could there be a slight disconnect if it shifts to noticeably different models after 500? Just thinking about aligning expectations.
Maybe it’s all working as intended, and I’m just a bit confused! Would be great if Cursor could clarify how premium requests work after the initial 500, and what model usage to expect. Anyone else have similar experiences or insights?
