Cursor Pro Auto Mode is buggy and keeps looping after renewal

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

After my Pro renewal on Sep 9, Auto Mode has started looping repeatedly and not editing files at all.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Enable Auto Mode in Cursor Pro
  2. Attempt to let it edit or refactor a file
  3. Observe that it goes into repeated cycles without making proper edits

Expected Behavior

Auto Mode should apply edits smoothly and as expected, without looping infinitely.

Does this stop you from using Cursor

Sometimes - I can sometimes use Cursor

This is happening to me too. It’s maddening. If it doesn’t get stuck in this style loop, it just starts thinking in my code file instead of in the chat.

Cursor support team asked me to update to the latest IDE version from https://cursor.com/downloads. After updating, the looping issue got resolved for me.
