Cursor Pro Required in Ask mode When using my own API Key (0.46)

I am using version 0.46 along with my own Google AI Studio API Key. However, when I try to chat in Chat mode using the Gemini model, it prompts me with “Cursor Pro Required.”

I assume that the “Ask” mode should be the old “Chat” mode?

same issue on OS: Darwin arm64 23.6.0.

i don’t have a pro subscription and know it’s required for agent but I can no longer use my API keys (sonnet 3.5 currently) with Chat > Ask (CMD+L) since the latest update.

No… I’ve been using my own API Key. I only use the Chat and Edit functions in older version. :smiling_face_with_tear:

thankfully this appears to be a bug! on 0.46.3 now and Ask works with my own API keys without a Pro Subscription. Had to initiate a new chat window after updating.
