My cursor application randomly crashes since the last update. When I restart cursor, it takes a while to load and the recent chat messages are no longer there. The chat history seems to be from 10-20 messages ago.
I also noticed that Cursor was taking up 10% of the system memory when it was crashing. I have 96GB RAM for context.
hey! which version are you on?

Could you send a screenshot or a video? Is this just the “Load Older Messages”?
My cursor application randomly crashes since the last update.
Are there a certain set of actions that trigger this? Trying to reproduce on our end.
Having the same problem since update, no changes to my settings and using M3 wth 64GB RAM and memory consumption is not an issue.
It’s pretty difficult to record the screen when the entire system is hanging. It has occurred about once every 2 hours which may suggest the chat history or context window is the cause, especially as the recent chat history seems to roll back upon application or system restart.
I had to switch to an alternative IDE unfortunately as I can’t tolerate the constant code deletions and application crashes.
I’ll give Cursor another chance once/if this seems to have been resolved.
I purged the existing copy of cursor, restarted and downloaded a fresh installation and this seems to have resolved the issue. Thanks!
