Hey, my guess is earlier in the chat, you may have sent a message while having your .env
file as your focused editor, which may have added the file as context to one of your previous messages!
However, there is nothing in that screenshot to suggest the AI actually knows the contents of your .env
file, as the only files it can see there is structure.md
, .cursorrules
(as added in your top message) and .cursorignore
(as the agent chose to look at half way down).
It’s also possible the AI just lied to you, or assumed it could read the file, but didn’t actually try.
Thank you @danperk, i am pretty sure that is what happened!
By the way, after 2 months with Cursor and a very concise refactored project and codebase i have to say cursor feels like AGI for me.
I am constantly using Cursor to enhace itself via Cursorrulesfile, Notepads and ai specific md documentation. This makes it agi level…
I am also experimenting with a ai worker approach with Cursor and it looks like a whole new road. If you are interested we could chat about that, but you probably work on that behind the scenes already i suppose.
Features are now done in a few hours then weeks! Its crazy times.
My whole App will be build via Cursor by me in BE and with my colleague in FE. It speeds us two developer up like 100 times.
Beside slow request sometimes canceling (but way better now than one month ago) and cursor sometimes really being stupid (but that will be added to cursorrules as an example what to not do each time) i have to say:
Without Cursor i would never be where I am right now. Keep up the good work!!
