Cursor Reinstalled an Older Version and Composer is Not Working (Urgent Help Needed)

Hello,

I recently uninstalled Cursor and reinstalled it, but to my surprise, it installed an older version of the application. Since then, the Composer feature has completely stopped working.

When I open Composer (the older floating window version), it doesn’t respond at all. I try to type, but nothing happens—the screen just stays blank.

This is severely disrupting my workflow, and I urgently need a solution. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Any suggestions or steps to fix it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

I found my own solution.

From https://www.cursor.com/, clicking on “Download” gives you version 0.42.
However, from https://changelog.cursor.com/, the “Download” button provides version 0.43.

I reinstalled the latest version, and now Composer works properly. In my case, using the older version was a complete step backward.
