In order to connect Cursor to GitLab in order to use Cloud Agents, we were only able to do this only if “Allow group and project access tokens > Users can create group access tokens and project access tokens in this group” was checked. This setting is under a Group, however, we clearly state that we want to use a specific repo.
It looks like this is required so that Cursor user can create a Project Access token for the specific project repo.
- This process is not clearly documented at all and takes the user outside the logical scope (Project vs Group).
- The same process can be completed easier if the user creates a project access token with the scopes that Cursor requires.
- While I understand that some Cursor users have multiple repos. it is much better to limit the scope when it comes to security to a single repo. This is also useful when someone is starting out with Cursor and wants to limit access.
