Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?
Cursor IDE
Describe the Bug
For some of my files, the Cursor Tab feature just stops working. It seems random what files this happens on.
It’s not a language support issue, since it works in half my PHP/JS files and not in the other half. It seems that every day it’s random what files it stops working on.
I can see the Cursor Tab footer widget is present and enabled (not crossed off). If I hover over the widget on files that Tab doesn’t work on, the tool tip shows as a tinny empty bubble. When I hover over the widget on files that Tab works on, the normal tool tip UI shows.
The Output panel for Cursor Tab just says “…CURSOR LOG: Finished creating provider!” when viewing files that don’t the tool doesn’t work on and the log looks normal on files it does work on.
If I reboot my editor while one of the not-working files is open and active, the Cursor Tab widget doesn’t even show up at all after Cursor opens again. Cursor Tab doesn’t show for any files when this happens, as if it’s completely shut off when this happens.
I’m a PRO user. I’ve logged out/in, switched Cursor network settings, tons of trouble shooting issues. The only thing that seems to work is downgrading to 1.4 (currently on 1.5.9).
Steps to Reproduce
I am not sure how to reproduce, I wish i could! I can remove the issue by downgrading to 1.4, but 1.5 has the issue.
Sometimes it feels like it’s related to git. I’ve had instances where all the files I’ve had edited or staged via the Cursor Source Control panel were not working with Tab, but all other files that I hadn’t touched worked fine.
Expected Behavior
Cursor Tab IS working, but it feels like only half the time. I expect it to load on every page.
