I feel slightly concerned regarding the competence of the cursor team.
How can I trust an application that has such access to my system and codebase, when the developers apparently can’t figure out how to fix a simple formatting issue for one of their provided models after more than 3 months and multiple instances of declaring that the team is in fact looking into it?
Furthermore, the forum moderators have repeatedly stated that they are looking into it, but they have obviously not been unable to fix Kimi-k2 creating random newlines in the response.
I’ve read multiple times that it is put as a model or provider issue - but it obviously isn’t:
- Kimi-k2 output is messed up (newlines inserted frequently)
- Click the “Copy message” of the response, paste into any text editor:
- “Copy message” content is perfectly properly formated, without the newlines, meaning the issue is in what the chat window itself is presenting.
I am aware this might come across as slightly snarky - but I feel this is a completely valid concern unless either:
- Cursor team is aware, but never intended to actually fix the issue.
- The issue has never actually been considered or looked into.
Because any of these is actually better than: - Cursor team have looked into the issue, tried to solve it, but have no idea how to fix formatting after more than 3 months.
If you can’t fix a formatting issue, how am I to believe you know what you are doing regarding privacy and general safety?
