Cursor tells me to 'implement this' rather than implementing it

I asked Cursor to implement the attached functions.
Instead it just commented that the implementation should be there (see 2. in the attached).

Cursor team, can you please provide a way for me to ensure Cursor always implements something when I ask it to?

I’ve specified in my custom instructions to do this, but it doesn’t listen :stuck_out_tongue:

What model are you using in chat? If the code isn’t implemented in chat, it probably won’t be implemented when applied.

The setting I use is called gpt-4.

Although I get the impression on this forum that that isn’t actually OpenAI’s GPT-4 and it will run a more modern version (which is very confusing).

If the code isn’t implemented in chat, it probably won’t be implemented when applied.

OK, how can I ensure it always implements within chat?

I’ve found GPT-4 to frequently be “lazy”. It’s probably the most annoying part of using an AI coding assistant. It frequently decides to stop implementing what I asked it and leave an unhelpful comment like //implement the rest of the functions. It does this even with specific instructions to not do it.

I’d give a different model a try. Claude appears to be less lazy.
