Describe the Bug

Chat window jumping/scrolling issues in Cursor Composer after 0.44 update. When editing messages, the chat window jumps up and down uncontrollably, and attempting to scroll causes the window to jump to the top.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open composer
  2. Select normal or agent mode
  3. Write a few messages
  4. Try to edit one of the messages
  • Result: Chat window jumps up and down
  • Additional: Attempting to scroll causes window to jump to top

Expected Behavior

Chat window should remain stable when editing messages, with normal scrolling behavior

MacOS

Current Cursor Version (Menu → About Cursor → Copy)

Version: 0.44.3
VSCode Version: 1.93.1
Commit: 4cabe4501c19546ecce8b6afbf17d76b743bf410

Additional Information

  • Occurs consistently in composer regardless of context size
  • Affects basic chat functionality
  • Currently forced to downgrade to version 0.43 as workaround

Thanks for the report, and for the screen recording, this does look weird!

I’ve reported this to our team, but we do have a new update (0.44) rolling out to all users soon, which may resolve this issue!

I have this as well.
It’s extremely frustrating and breaks my flow massively.

We’ve found this bug and have got a fix underway - it should be available in a new update within the next day or two!
