its sometimes stuckedup from running terminal commands, no folllowup reply from agent, i just had to skip to continue, i’m in pro plan auto.
UX of queue is terrible. Deserves some love for sure.
How do I roll back to the previous version? the new release is the worst thing imaginable because the chat has stopped fulfilling my requests completely. it just answers me with text without any editing of the code - I just spend my requests to the AI and it answers me with several lines. I recreated the chat dozens of times and tried to do something but it just stopped working it’s just awful
That’s the famous queue. Noticed it last night, wasted who knows how many requests not understanding what is happening. Figured out to ‘override’ it I need to close the Cursor and open it again and my enter becomes my enter again.
I saw posts about this, will check again whats happening, as it should work, Dean and several others from Cursor Team helped out while I was AFK, so will have to check on latest.
Any suggestions for improvements or details of issue? I used it to queue request, or push some through immediately, havent noticed DX issue.
Just explaining my use case:
- Had no idea we have it.
- Suddenly noticed my request doesn’t go anywhere. It says it is queued (was working on something last night for a short time).
- Noticed it says I have 1 request queued. There are two buttons next to it. When I click on one of them, my request disappears. Stuck in endless “generating…” without knowing what’s the issue at all and if it will generate this week or something else is wrong.
- Opened the thread here on the forum.
- Frustrated, restarted Cursor. Things started working again.
- Looked into the icons again (I am using Mac): it looks like it redefined my Enter button, and without me knowing it, my Enter now means queue, not what it meant 10 minutes ago. But even more funny - this morning my enter just works the way it used to.
- Came back this morning to this conversation, saw you mentioned a two days ago that someone ‘discovered’ this feature. Like, seriously guys, that’s not how product work works
- Still have no idea what actually happens when something is queued or not, why would I even queue one request and not the other (like in last two hours nothing is being queued).
- Also when the request got queued, and request is bigger then maybe five average words, maybe I am just not intelligent enough but couldn’t figure out at all what I did put into that request (responsiveness issues, if we can call it that).
Update:
- Another message just ended up in a queue. There is remove and send icons. Clicked send, lost what was the message, just see message “Generating…” and that’s it, no idea what it is generating and why now and when it will potentially finish.
And another update:
- The only run away from this ‘feature’ is to restart Cursor
Hmm, right, yes the thread here was originally for pre-release where users found the new features while using the new version.
Queued messages process, will pass on info about improving docs.
Sending messages while one is still running queues them.
Forcing a message does end previous request.
Thanks again for the feedback its important to see how users use it.
Thanks man. Maybe it is a bug, since I guarantee you there was nothing running in that moment. But I can see how it was confused potentially by me trying to figure out what is up and resending the same thing.
I am really disappointed with this release. The ability to tag files in an .MDC file has been completely removed.
I relied on this feature a lot for a very large codebase, to give sets of instructions to create various features e.g. a new type of notification.
Super disappointed.
Anybody have anything good to say about memories? I tried them earlier, and had deleted/disabled them because they were causing major context issues. Then I noticed the feature had been removed, which seemed sensible. I do much better with focused sessions, especially with Claude of late. But if I’m wrong…? I’m willing to re-try this if people find it actually useful.
@David_Young how many memories did you get for them to create major context issues? The feature is still there. Could you confirm if you see it in settings?
With feedback the feature can be improved (doesnt mean its not usable)
I upgraded to 1.2 but don’t seem to have access to the to-do feature. Is there somewhere I need to enable it because I’ve taken a look and can’t find it.
@hutchibi you can ask AI to plan a task or list to-dos. Its automatic.
How about a little transparency? I just got message that MAX functions is only available for paid users??? And I was Pro, and I even upgraded to Pro+ to be able to use your max features. Now, only after few days from my upgrade you are telling me I can’t use Max anymore, and If I want, I need to upgrade on new thing called ULTRA?? are you serious guys??? Zero transparency of usage, and your policy of usage and users upgrade is becoming terrible, honestly!
Hi @chupa are you on a free plan? Pro, Pro+ and any paid plans have Max usable on the plan. Since your issue is not related to Cursor v1.2 please create a separate full bug report post so this can be reviewed. This thread is only for Cursor 1.2 specific topics.
After update cursor lost the settings, recent workspaces, and the selected theme. It thought its a new installation
I disabled the To-do’s feature because I found it wasn’t working (MacOS)-- It would generate the todo list but then never actually do anything. Closed and relaunched and the chat still had the UI for todos just a spinning. Also, no requests were working. I’ve started a new chat and hopefully get past “Generating…” but who knows.
I would also recommend updating the “There’s a new version available” toast to include a close/ignore/later button, as forcing users to update an installed app feels bad, especially when you don’t present a list of patch nodes before agreeing to it.
Also, I used to be able to just hit “continue” when I got “Connection failed. if the problem persists, please check your internet connection or VPN” but this option is now missing. Given that this issue happens ALL THE TIME and isn’t a problem with my network/connection, It would be great to see this feature brought back.
edit: I may have found the resubmit.. now you ahve to click on the erorr message and click the up arrow ꜛ
Hi @T1000! This is my first message ever here in the Forum
Just wanted to clarify that that’s not what @danywachy was talking about. It’s happened to me too. The AI will actually say “Oh, it looks like my changes weren’t applied”, or “it looks like the file wasn’t created”, but the changes or file creation were successful. For some reason the AI thinks it failed, and it tries again, probably even deleting the content, leaving an empty file.
@Raz yes I have seen a few similar issues today and reported them. Checking in if this is solved. When did it last happen for you?
