Deepseek R1 native cursor model vs using via API

As the question states, is using Deepseek R1 better with the api or with cursors native option? I’ve seen some posts and comments about the temperature settings etc being different hence the cursor native deep seek doesn’t perform up to expectations?

What have you guys noticed? What would you suggest?

I found that when using the API of the deepseek-r1 model, the effect is different when the region of the account belongs to is different. For example, “API in China” and “API in Singapore”. Have you tested two different regions?
