Display Team Bugbot Rules in Cursor Settings

Feature request for product/service

BugBot

Describe the request

  • Team Bugbot Rules are only visible to admins in the Cursor dashboard (dashboard → Bugbot tab)
  • Team members cannot see what Bugbot rules are enforced on their PRs from within the Cursor IDE or Cursor dashboard.

Requested Behavior:

  • Display Team Bugbot Rules in Cursor Settings → Rules (similar to how regular Team Rules appear)
  • Make them read-only for non-admin team members
  • Show which rules are enforced organization-wide

Use Case:

  • Developers need visibility into what standards Bugbot will enforce before opening PRs
  • Reduces back-and-forth when PRs fail Bugbot checks
  • Improves team transparency and helps developers learn organizational standards proactively
  • Aligns with how regular Team Rules are already displayed

Impact:

  • Better developer experience and fewer PR revision cycles due to unexpected Bugbot failures.

Why This Would Be Valuable:
This feature would:

  • Improve discoverability - Developers know what to expect before creating PRs
  • Reduce friction - Fewer surprised reactions to Bugbot comments
  • Consistency - Aligns with how regular Team Rules work
  • Better learning - Team members can proactively learn standards

Operating System (if it applies)

Hey, thanks for the detailed feature request.

Right now, Team Bugbot Rules are only available to admins through the dashboard (https://cursor.com/dashboard?tab=bugbot). Non-admin team members can’t see these rules in the IDE or in the dashboard.

Your request makes sense. Making Team Rules visible to everyone on the team would help developers understand org standards before creating a PR.

The team is already working on improving Bugbot’s team-level features. We’ve logged your feedback and we’ll take it into account as we build this.
