Dot file protection turned off, still agent not able to edit .env files or allowing me to add them to the chat

Is this a bug? What am i missing? I’m unable to even add the .env files to the context in the chat window.

I had initially turned it on (.dot file protection) but then i turned it off and since then i haven’t been able to add these files to chat not the agent has been able to edit them
