I’m requesting a feature in Cursor Editor that allows for dynamic AI model switching during workflows. While an ideal implementation would involve a Manager model that automatically selects the appropriate AI for different tasks, an alternative solution could be implementing simple commands in Cursor’s Notepads feature to manually switch between models.
This functionality would enable:
- Switching between reasoning-optimized models for complex analytical tasks and efficient models for routine work
- Utilizing multiple reasoning models to analyze problems from different perspectives
- Seamless transitions between models within the same workflow or document
Even a basic command-based switching system in Notepads would significantly enhance productivity by allowing users to leverage the most appropriate model for each task type, while also enabling richer insights through multi-angle analysis when needed.
