Feature request: Collapsible / minimize agent follow-up (questions & options) panel for easier review of long replies above

Feature request for product/service

Cursor IDE

Describe the request

Summary

When the agent first outputs a long explanatory answer and then presents follow-up questions (sometimes many questions and/or very long option text), the bottom “question / confirmation” UI cannot be collapsed or minimized. To answer accurately I often need to re-read the explanation above, but the fixed-height question area leaves only a narrow strip of the prior message visible—there is no way to temporarily hide or dock that prompt UI while I review the model’s text.

Expected behavior

  • A clear affordance to collapse, minimize, or dock the agent’s follow-up question block (multi-question flows, long multiple-choice lists, etc.) so I can use the full pane height to read the assistant message above.
  • Ideally: restore the prompt UI with one click (or a keyboard shortcut) after I finish reviewing.

Why this matters

This is a common workflow: the model gives context first, then asks targeted clarifications. Without being able to hide the question chrome, the UI fights the user instead of supporting careful confirmation.

Notes

I searched the forum for overlapping requests; I found threads about collapsing AI responses / chat navigation and about scroll/jump issues, but not a dedicated request for collapsing only the agent’s pending follow-up question UI while keeping the conversation in place. Happy to merge or link if a maintainer finds an existing thread.

Operating System (if it applies)

Someone helps me plzzzzzzzzzzz~

Thanks for the feature request! I can’t guarantee that we’re going to act on it because we have a lot of competing priorities, but if others pile on to this thread and it gets traction, we can put more thought into considering it.
