Feature Request: Notification Sound When Editing is Complete

Hi everyone,

I’d love to see an option for Cursor AI to play a notification sound when editing is finished. Since the process takes around 30 seconds, I often switch focus to something else while waiting. A simple alert would make it easier to know when the results are ready for review.

Would this be possible to implement? I think it would improve workflow efficiency for many users.

I would like this as well please.

I suggest these notification types:

  1. Audio
  2. OS level
  3. Status colours on Chat and Composer e.g.
    :green_square: Generating
    :red_square: Generated - unread

Ideally I could configure a different visual and audio notification for Composer vs. Chat.

This is because, for example, the conversation in Chat may be low priority, and when I receive the notification I may decide not to go back to it immediately.

And perhaps a conversation in Composer might be high priority, and when I receive the notification, I will go back to it immediately.

would really love to enable a rule for audio cues

when composer replies with X, play sound A
when composer has rerun tests more than N times, please sound B
when composer says Y, play sound B and then sound C

sounds could be saved in a local folder, or cursor db similar to notebooks storage.

Additionally, as requested elsewhere - voice output from cursor would be really nice - preferable through a service such as elevenlabs provided with an api key - or a similar service
