Feature: TODO List At the top of Chat Panel

It would be fantastic to include a TODO list at the top of the chat panel.

The chat progresses quick, and you forget where you are in say a list of 5 todos.
If it were pinned to the top, and you could drill down into it to add more, and tick them off as you go it would be great. There should also be a way to add more to the todo list.

I’d love to have a go at coding this with 1 or more other devs. Interested?

Great idea, like a checklist basically.

Could even be MD for easy editing, or something similar.

Hey, thanks for the feature request. Is it something like a Task Master built into Cursor?

Hey, I don’t know of Task Master, it could just be a checkbox list initially, that the human can tick off. Basically, an always visible todo list.

Perhaps extension scope could be sub-tasks, indented. And maybe allowing the machine to tick off them.

while im not fan of jetbrains ui, their task list for their ai agent is pretty good! for inspiration!

Really? Wow i feel great thinking how the ideas are mixing between us. I found this idea a few months ago, i ask to the agent to create a log with the task todo en the current prompt with checkbox and this was a good idea because this improve the work and how the agent complete the jobs. And now cursor add this as natural, now i dont need create this log files todo to return context but… if i need to refresh the chat for extends chat with to much context? I need stay this context in the time and share with a new chat, this will be a possibility?.

I will can remove the rule for the agent to create this logs :slight_smile: and return less tokens xD
