File grounding must be chat-level not message-level

I use Cursor very heavily, and having to reselect the files to ground my request on EVERY time is infuriating, the amount of times I forget and have to cancel the response and reset it.

I also suspect that when you do the “+” file grounding (the auto suggest files to include is pretty much useless btw) it often doesn’t actually send them to the LLM as the LLM doesn’t seem to know about them, doing @ mentions is the only reliable way.

This is such a simple thing to implement and would make Cursor so much better

After reading around some other posts here, I just discovered the Composer (which I haven’t played much with yet) has an “address open editors” feature when you press forwardslash, which seems to be what I want. I will report back

Did you find the feature you were looking for? I’m trying to keep the editor’s assistant aware of multiple files at once, and it is very inconvenient to + every time and get to those files by hand
