Thank you @danperks , 0.43 fixed this!
I didn’t see chnglog update btwn 44.5 and 44.8
Link?
I am on 44.8 and still getting this issue?
Ive found that when it appears to be generating for a long while - i type “Keep going” in the prompt and it coaxes it along, other times I simply prompt ‘?’ – and get same reult mostly…
if you ask a follow up question it distracts it from the task its numerating on…
Note this is still happening in 44.11, once it starts I have to restart cursor and any composer threads it happens are rendered useless, so you have to start again and lose crucial pivot points in the workflow
Agree it’s been particularly bad in 0.44.11 I might have gotten it once a session in 0.44.09 but I’m getting multiple “Generating…” now in a session. This is a scourge for Cursor.
Hey @humanbeingbeing and @SalaciousCarrot,
Sorry to hear you’re both still having issues with this bug. If you open the developer console (CMD+Shift+P then Developer: Toggle Developer Console
), are there any errors visible there when you’re trying to use the composer?
The bug that caused this for most of our users was fixed but there may be another cause here that we are unaware of!
I have done so here: What has change in the latest update? - #16 by SalaciousCarrot
for reference I have posted a new video of this happening today twice 20 mins apartment and perhaps it can shed light on how to reproduce this, note-- Ive seen this happen over 100 times on 3 different machines. Loses work so it seems like it should be high priority.
Would it be possible for you to get us a request ID when you find one of these chats hanging?
It’s pretty simple, but the guide to do this is here:
The caveat is you will need to have Privacy Mode disabled before you attempt to make the request that hangs forever, as we have very limited visibility about requests with privacy mode turned on (hence the point of it!).
Will this, I can see where the request is getting to and why it is hanging!
