Got the update for gemini API but whenever I try to use it it says “The provided API key is invalid. Please provide a valid API key.” Anyone with this issue?

happens with the “free” Api key ive heard but some made it work dont know how yet 
It’s working for me with the free API key from Google ai studio. I didn’t do anything specific. Just made sure I didn’t have “override open ai url base” set in Cursor, but that might be unrelated:

worse, if you have something in there sometimes it keeps calling the thing instead of using your API key…
its a hassle to get it to accept other API keys but in the end it does after 4-5 attempts (or restart) wish there would be an easier mode
also sad i cant use it with Composer

yeah it works with them too
you have to specify it and add the model if its one of the experimental ones
if you want the regular one, just gemini is enough and it will use the newest in the background by default (its handled by Google behind the scenes)
