Gemini-2.5-pro model which was working perfectly before, now when I ask it to make any change, it thinks too much at first. Then it makes the change, then it thinks again by itself and changes what I want from a different perspective and this is repeated at least 4-5 times.
If it was just something that happens once in a while, it wouldn’t be a problem but it treats almost all my prompts the same way. I have to stop it manually or take my popcorn with me and watch it have fun with my code 
Exact same experience, I switched to o4-mini because Google 2.5 Pro was unusable, it keep doing the opposite of what I wanted despite me telling to do exactly only this one thing I specified, it showed at first what I told it too then rethought and made up an entirely new issue undoing my last 3 changes which I never requested to be undone, it also wouldn’t update mds and at one point straight up refused to use Javascript stating it was restricted from using the Javascript programming language.
