Describe the Bug

When adding / removing a GoogleAPI key manually added google models seemed to break in the Agent side panel.

Steps to Reproduce

Activate a Google API key and remove it under Cursor Settings > Models. When ‘gemini-2.5-pro’ is manually added, the user is not able to select this model from the context menu in the Agent side panel.

Expected Behavior

The manually added model should show up in the Agent side panel.

Hey, thanks for the report. I can see the screenshot with your model settings.

This is a known issue where custom models don’t show up in the model selector on v2.6.12. The team knows about it, and your report helps us prioritize it.

A couple of things to try for now:

  1. Go to Cursor Settings > Models, remove gemini-2.5-pro from the manually added models list, then restart Cursor and add it again.
  2. If that doesn’t work, try adding your Google API key again first, then add the model. The order might matter.
