Gemini API key never works

It constantly says i hit the API limit which was not true a few days ago. How do i fix this?

Hey, it might be an issue related to the API key. Have you tried creating a new one? Have you also tested its functionality outside of Cursor?

tried to make a new api key already. it was working fine a few days ago.

Ok great, have you tried using the API key outside of Cursor to confirm the API key is working without limits?

its working again randomly now. it doesnt seem like it has anything to do with the api key and more of a google/cursor issue

Could you share the Request ID where such a case occurs? Ideally the Request ID would need to be with Privacy setting Off so the Cursor Team can trace the details, you can then reenable that setting if required after the test.

New error: 6e9df94b-1b9e-4d94-8140-95046a0dd10a

i havent got the api limit one in a while, it just comes randomly

This looks like a Google/Gemini error, probably a bug. Lets see if someone at Cursor can trace this @deanrie

Which Gemini model are you trying to use?

latest gemini (max) via google api

It looks like there was an issue on Google’s side. I just checked, and everything is working fine for me now. Could you confirm if it’s working for you as well?
