/Generate Cursor Rules command missing in Cursor 2.0

The /Generate Cursor Rules command that existed in v0.49 is missing in Cursor 2.0

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open Cursor 2.0
  2. Press / in chat
  3. The command is not available

Expected Behavior

The command should be available.

Operating System

MacOS

Current Cursor Version (Menu β†’ About Cursor β†’ Copy)

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey, thanks for the report. The /Generate Cursor Rules command was indeed removed in Cursor 2.0.

For now, you can create rules like this:

  • Through the Command Palette: Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+P β†’ β€œNew Cursor Rule”
  • In settings: Cursor Settings β†’ Rules β†’ create a new rule
  • Ask the Agent: according to the docs, you can ask the Agent in chat to create a rule
