Git Diffs not showing up in the gutter or minimap

I’m unable to see the git diff indicators in the usual places on the IDE. I checked under the VS Code settings for diffDecoration and it all seems to be in order.

seems like its functioning again; odd since I didn’t change anything since yesterday
