I really enjoy the concept of project rules, but have about 30+ active repositories for different projects using the same technologies, coding languages, etc… that would all benefit from the same rules and I dread the maintenance of needing to copy around the hidden .cursor/rules
contents between projects.
Particularly as I look to start adopting rules that would enable Cursor itself to create new ones or update existing ones, this seems like a lot of maintenance work that would benefit from having a global set of rules that behaved similarly to project rules (specific focus, can always apply or not, optionally filtered to specific directories/files/extensions), but apply no matter which project Cursor is currently open to.
