Grok 4.6 Extremely Slow the last two days

Yesterday Grok 4.6 took over two hours to complete a task which would normally take a few minutes. I was hardly able to get anything done with Grok 4.6 all day. Today it is still really slow, so I installed the newest version of Cursor, re-opened Cursor, and started a new chat, and it still seems painfully slow. Did somthing change in the last 72 hours? Why is it suddenly running at seemingly 5-10% of the previous speed?
Note: I just ran out of tokens yesterday and updated my subscription to Pro+; I can’t remember if it was slow before that or not.
Is anyone else having this same issue?

Bug report:

Bug is in the in-editor agent response time (agent starts working and takes an unusually long time to return a response/produce results)
Agent provides short status about what it is doing, but that status stays the same for far longer than normal and tasks take ~8x as long as normal to complete
I can reproduce the bug by asking the agent to do anything
Expected behavior is to take a normal amount of time to respond and complete tasks
I am on Windows 11

Does this stop you from using Cursor?

  • Yes - Cursor is unusable
  • Sometimes - I can sometimes use Cursor
  • No - Cursor works, but with this issue
