How Do I Install Times New Roman Font In Cursor

How do I install the Times New Roman font in Cursor so the font is changed in all chats?

I have been given a complete runaround by Cursor itself.

It gives me instructions that are not to be found in the menu items and then changes those instructions

which don’t work and so on …

So please can some kind person(s) tell me how.

Hey, you don’t need to install anything in Cursor. Cursor uses fonts that are already installed on your system, and Times New Roman comes with Windows and macOS. The built-in AI instructions probably pointed to settings that don’t exist, so you couldn’t find them in the menu.

How to actually do it depends on the layout.

Agents window layout:
Cursor Settings > Appearance > Typography > UI Font Family > search and pick Times New Roman. This changes the font for the whole UI, including chat text. There’s also Code Font Family in the same section, and it controls code blocks and diffs.

Classic IDE layout:
There’s no separate font family setting for chat yet. You only have Cursor Settings > Chat > Text Size and the window zoom. editor.fontFamily only changes the code editor, not chat. If you need Times New Roman in chats, switch to the Agents window layout.

I was then able to select the Times New Roman font
