How do I share a custom MCP that one of my bots has built with the rest of my team?
Hey @Sam_Smith, thanks for the question!
When one of your Bots adds an MCP server, it’s saved to your own account, so only you can use it. To share it, publish that Bot to your team and add the server to the Team Bot:
- Open the Bot in the Grok Bot desktop app.
- Open its share menu and click Publish to team.
- Once it’s published, open the Bot’s details and find its Plugins section.
- Click Add plugins, then Add custom.
- Enter the server’s URL (or command) and any secret values it needs.
Everyone who uses that Team Bot then gets the server. The setup is shared, but if the server signs in with an account, each teammate connects their own. You can also just ask the Bot, in your own chat with it, to add the server to itself after it’s published. One thing to check: if the MCP your Bot built runs as a local command from files on its own computer, your teammates’ sessions won’t have those files. Hosting it at a URL is the most reliable way to share it.
Here’s some images of the steps - I tried it out to make sure I was giving you the correct steps:
