Hi Cursor team,
Currently the only option to configure a Team Plugin Marketplace is using Github or Github enterprise. It would be extreamly helpful to support the Claude plugins standard that also allows connection to an HTTP URL that serves the marketplace.json
This way we can use our internal registries that have governance capabilities instead of relaying on git

This is a great suggestion, and we’ve heard similar feedback from other teams that want to use their own artifact registries rather than relying on Git-based distribution.
We’re tracking this internally. No timeline to share yet, but demand like this thread helps our team prioritize.

any progress here？we can’t distribute our marketplace maintained in our privatre git repository, it’s really inconvenient compared to claude code marketplace/plugin protocol
@Adam_Browning @mohitjain — following up on this thread: we just opened a proposal with the Agent Plugins TSC (the cross-vendor spec body behind Agent Plugins 1.0) for exactly this — a plain-HTTP way to distribute plugin marketplaces without requiring git.
If this is something you’d want to see supported, we could really use your support, votes, and thoughts on the discussion — it helps show the TSC there’s real, cross-vendor demand for this.
Figured this thread was good evidence of real demand worth looping in.
