I can't use GrokBOT to Check my Folder, WHY?

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Grok Bot

Describe the Bug

Local Computer Execution is set to “Always Allow” (also tried “Ask every time”), restarted the Grok Bot app and the PC, but every agent file/shell request on DESKTOP-ISR69EG still fails with “Local tools are turned off… set to ‘Never’”. The setting shown in the app does not sync to the agent, so the bot cannot access authorized folders.

Steps to Reproduce

Open Settings > Computer > Execution on Local Computer and set it to “Always Allow”.
Restart the Grok Bot app and PC.
Ask the bot to list C:\Users\User\Downloads\Synn Trading\Synn Trading.
The request fails with “Local tools are turned off… ‘Never’”, despite Always Allow being shown.

I don’t know how this bug happen

Expected Behavior

With Always Allow, the bot can access the approved local folder after auto-review.

Grok Bot

Additional Information

Setting shows Always Allow/Ask every time, restarted app + PC, machine, bot still receives “Never”. Previous account could access PC; new bot Angel cannot.

Does this stop you from using Cursor

Yes - Cursor is unusable

Hey @Adhaazli, on some new accounts the computer never finishes linking, so the bot is told access is “Never” even when your app shows “Always allow.” It’s an issue we’re already tracking on our side.

What’s been clearing it for others:

  1. Open grok.com and sign in with the same account you use in the Grok Bot app.
  2. Go to Settings > Privacy, click Edit, keep (or re-pick) your choice, and Save.
  3. Back in the app, start a new chat and ask it to list your Downloads folder again. No restart needed.

If it still says “Never,” let me know. For brand-new accounts it also tends to sort itself out on its own within about a day.
