Is that related due the model basically consuming the entire monthly request quota? because I just sent them an email with this issue.

My plan is the 500 requests per month, I use cursor for more than a year and I have never reached 500 requests per month in my usage, but today in 20 minutes the AI alone itself consumed all my quota, autonomously.

Same exact problem here with my 500 requests/month legacy plan.

Tool calls are now counting as separate requests, draining my monthly quota in minutes. I’ve escalated to human support, let’s share updates if either of us hears back from the team.

I have the same issue! Used cursor for two years and never had this issue.

I reached out to Cursor’s human support via email, and their official response confirms that every tool call (such as file reads, searches, or code edits) is counted as a separate request against your monthly limit.

In my view, the root cause of this issue is directly tied to the Subagents feature. As long as you prevent Cursor from triggering this capability during use, you can avoid these extra request charges.

There are two effective workarounds:

  1. Use Cursor Rules: This is a passive approach, though there’s still a risk of accidental re-triggering.

  2. Roll back to a version without Subagents: For example, v2.3.x and earlier builds.

file read and seachers are counted as separate requests? wtf, this never happened before and makes zero sense.

aside that this started without any comunication and now I’m done for the rest of the month.

I will cancel my subscription, thats just no fair
