Feature request for product/service
Cursor IDE
Describe the request
the AppImage is awful! I see cursor also release deb package. so I think release rpm same time is easy. So I request release rpm package.

Hey, good timing, this is available now!
Hey all,
It’s taken us some time, but we now have both .deb and RPM releases of Cursor available for download and use, alongside our standard AppImage format.
Once you download it via the website, Cursor will automatically add the necessary repositories to your system on first launch, which can then be used to update Cursor using your package manager of choice.
Happy coding

@danperks when I use the RPM on Fedora it does not add the repo to my package manager.
There are no new files in “/etc/yum.repos.d”
Cursor then says it has updates, but can’t update (which makes sense). There is no updated package from the website, and it didn’t install the package manager repo, so I can’t upgrade.

Hey folks, cursor is amazing but currently the linux version is a .AppImage. Yes… , this is simpler for you devs, but for us users it's suboptimal.
AppImages do not ingreate deeply into the OS, we don't get a proper VSCode replacement with nice Icons, possibility to have mutiple instances running etc. It's super limited.
You will need to create two packages on top of AppImage, .rpm, and .deb. That should cover most Linux OSes.
Personally I just need the .rpm as I'm on Fedora but am also thinking about others.
