IDE incorrectly switches display modes in the chat window when viewing certain markdown content

Description

When viewing or editing markdown files, the IDE unexpectedly breaks up the chat window view when encountering:

  • Unmarked code blocks

  • The word “bash” in markdown content

This happens both during direct editing and when viewing copied content.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Copy contents of the example README.md text below. Note that it contains the word “bash”

  2. Paste it into the AI chat window

  3. Observe that it renders with disparate blocks

  4. Note this also occurs while the AI is actively generating code in the chat window

  5. The issue appears to be specifically triggered by the word “bash”

Example

PS Sniper

PS Image Scrape/display application

Same here on a different OS, it’s annoying and impacting productivity, for a project I gave up Markdown and opted for comment rich python file.

A simple way to reproduce is to ask Composer to builad a readme file with setup and CLI commands that will likely see it happening. Even after latest update today.
