Images in MCP, How to do it?

I just updated Cursor to version 0.49.4. From your changelog:

"Images in MCP

You can now pass images as part of the context in MCP servers. This helps when screenshots, UI mocks, or diagrams add essential context to a question or prompt."

Please explain this to me like I’m five or younger and dyslexic: How to you use that feature? Do you need to add a special MCP server/tool for that? So far I can’t coerce Cursor to take any screenshots itself… I mean, I have my Desktop full of pretty screenshots using Shift-Command-4 on my Mac and copying/pasting them in my chats but it would be nice to chuck that effort if it can be done within Cursor.

Hey, yes, you need to use a special MCP server that supports images, for example, one that takes a screenshot and can return it in the response. Read more about it here:

Can you please see this post, I read the official doc carefully, tried to make my MCP server to return data as specified.
But the image still doesn’t appear in the chat.
