When asking Cursor (composer agent mode) exploratory questions like “which database would be best for my project,” it often correctly discusses options but then immediately starts implementing its recommended solution without being asked. This disrupts my thought process when I’m only trying to explore concepts or understand trade-offs.
Would it be possible to improve Cursor’s ability to differentiate between discussion queries and implementation requests? The AI should recognize when users are in an exploratory phase and wait for explicit confirmation before generating code or making changes. This would allow for natural conversations where users can fully consider options before committing to implementation.
