Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey, thanks for the report.

I can see this started on February 4. On the same day, the team also confirmed issues with Anthropic on the service side, so it could be related to that incident.

That said, error 57 + resource_exhausted is most often caused by third-party API key settings. Can you check:

  1. Cursor Settings → Models

    • Make sure Override OpenAI Base URL is turned off
    • Check if you have any third-party API keys added (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.). If you do, try removing them temporarily
  2. Fully sign out and sign back in (Cursor Settings → Sign Out, then Sign In)

  3. Try creating a new test chat in a different project/workspace

In a similar case, the issue was fixed by signing out/in plus disabling the API key: Persistent Connection Error

Let me know if the issue is still happening after these steps and I’ll share some additional diagnostics.

Hi Dean, the problems were resolved once the connection issues with Anthropic were fixed, as you yourselves reported. Unfortunately, the connection problems lasted a full 6 hours! We hope they don’t occur frequently.

Today, Sonnet 4.5 seems to be working quite well, even if there is a fairly long delay between the request and the response.
