The prices on the pricing page are before taxes. The switch page prices the plan for your billing country and can include local taxes, which is likely why Super showed as $120 for you instead of $100. If the amount still looks wrong for your country, email [email protected] with a screenshot of the switch page.
Composer is still available on every plan of The X Subscription, and it uses your plan’s included weekly usage like the Grok models do.
If you don’t see it in the model picker, open Cursor Settings → Models and make sure Composer is turned on.
All paid plans include unlimited Cursor tab completions.
BYOK is available on the Premium tier and above. It is not available for the $8 plan (Plus).
Yes i have switched to yearly plus subscription
Wow. Very well written and concise. Watching Cursor since the acquisition has been a train crash in slow motion.
I was a longterm subscriber and had Ultra at times and others often spent on usage. Unfortunately for the reasons you stated plus the cost of using Opus 5.5 I had to move to another product.
One of the last straws for me was when realising that the Cursor Agent was so inefficient using Opus 5.5, I spent hundreds of dollars over my sub in additional usage in the first weekend it was announced. When I seen that the lead developer had just posted an absolutely huge system prompt to try and combat this I knew for me “it was over”.
I’m not happy because I prefer the product and UI to other offerings plus when you used to have the model freedom.
The ball has been well and truly dropped for me unfortunately.
The only thing that would make me come back at this point would be if Grok 4.8 was Opus 5.5 level (unlikely)…
Thanks for the announcement! Quick question about switching when my subscriptions are on two different emails.
I currently have Cursor Pro+ on one email. Separately, I have an annual SuperGrok plan on a different email (different payment method too), and that’s the same email as my free X account. I’d like to consolidate everything onto that Grok/X email under the X Subscription.
- Can an existing Cursor account be moved or merged onto a different email, specifically my Grok/X email, so I keep my settings and history?
- If I switch from my SuperGrok account, does the prorated refund cover the rest of my annual plan, and how is my Cursor Pro+ plan handled when it’s on a different email?
- If merging isn’t possible, what’s the recommended order (switch first, then cancel Pro+, or the other way around) so I’m not double-billed or locked out?
@vladtech Different emails aren’t a problem here!
-
You don’t need to move your Cursor account to the other email first. When you switch, you sign in to your Cursor account and your Grok account separately, so they can be on different emails, and you can connect your X account in the same flow. After combining, your Grok sign-in becomes the primary sign-in for the combined account, and your Cursor conversations, projects, and settings stay with it. Combining is permanent, so the accounts can’t be unlinked afterward.
-
When you upgrade, your current plans end with a prorated refund for the unused time. That covers the rest of your annual SuperGrok term and the rest of your current Cursor Pro+ billing period, even though they’re on different emails and payment methods.

There’s no need to cancel either plan yourself. Sign in to Cursor with your Pro+ account, open your billing settings (or go to cursor.com/unify), connect your Grok and X accounts, pick a plan, and check out. Both old subscriptions end when the switch completes, so you won’t be billed twice.
Yes, annual billing is available. When you subscribe on X, the plan picker lets you switch between monthly and annual billing. The prices on the pricing page are the monthly ones.
I am on my second month of the old Cursor Ultra annual subscription. Ther new subscription offers duoble my current usage!! I think cursor annual users should have the option to migrate to the new plan for free for the rest of the remaining months.
So stop calling it an opt in. It’s not. It doesn’t matter anyway. This is my cue to leave. You can keep the X badge too.
@Colin Hi! I’m still on the old Cursor Pro ($20/mo), which includes third-party model usage. If I switch it to annual billing now, do I keep these old Pro terms for the whole year, or will I get moved to the new plans? Thanks!
Yeah, I have no doubt they’ll force everyone to switch eventually, just like they did to the Legacy plan users.
I
I’m on Team Premium because I wanted early access to Origin now that Origin is available on all paid plans I want to switch back to an Individual Plan but I can’t find anyway to do that. Help docs say there is an “adjust plan” tile but not for me.
Any ideas? This is potentially made worse for me because of the new unified subscription and I won’t be able to be grandfathered into a legacy unified plan. Hella frustrating!
Hey @Frank_Harris! There isn’t a direct way to switch a team plan into an individual plan. The “Adjust plan” tile in the help docs only appears on individual accounts, which is why you don’t see it on your team.
You have two options:
-
Stay on a one-person team.
-
Move to an individual plan by canceling the team plan first, waiting for the plan to lapse, and signing up for a new X Subscription plan.
On grandfathering: your account doesn’t have an individual Cursor plan today, so there’s no existing individual plan to carry over. Your current team plan keeps working as it is until you cancel it or choose to switch.
Thanks for the quick reply and straight forward answer. I’ve been trying to move my plan for over a month and no one (nor your docs) have explained this to me in the way you have today.
It’s disappointing to hear that there isn’t a smooth downgrade path. Again, I only switched to Teams because I was asked to join an early Origin group for feedback before public release and at that time you had to be on a team account (I’m an indie dev). Disappointing that I can’t get back to where I was before and be grandfathered into where I spent the majority of my time.
Take this feedback for what you want with it – but I expect more from Cursor.
@Colin I’m currently on the Ultra annual plan with 9 months remaining. But on the “Choose a plan” page the prorated amount is only showing $160. A bit offputting, since it should be significantly more than that! Will it correctly prorate me for the remaining 9 months? (I would look to change that copy, btw)
Hey @Tom_W,
The $160 on the “Choose a plan” page isn’t your refund. It’s your current Ultra plan’s price shown per month: the annual plan is $1,920 a year, which works out to $160 a month. The “Prorated refund will be applied” note underneath doesn’t show a refund amount on that page.
When you switch, your annual Ultra plan is canceled and you get a prorated refund for the unused time left in your annual term.
