Intuitive chat history

The chat panel/window, that opens on the left, is super awesome and helpful, but there is no intuitive way to switch between chats.

The chat is very useful to understand the code, but sometimes we have to branch to different topic, and we need multiple tabs/chat for it. Cursor does provide a way to have multiple chats, but its not easy to switch between older or newer chats. There is a (second) button (with history icon) that opens a chat list, but its popup text is “Previous chat”, which is confusing.

Quick solution suggestion: Can you rename it to “Chat List” or something like that?

Additionally, I noticed that when we open a new chat, there are list of previous chats at the bottom, but it hides when we enter a prompt to the chat.

Hi @shrikbiz

I’m not quite sure why you’re dissatisfied. “Previous chats” seems like a reasonable name, right? About hiding the chat list when you enter a chat prompt, are you suggesting keeping it visible all the time? I think that’d take up already limited chat space. You can also access previous chats with the shortcut Ctrl/Cmd + Alt + L, and on Mac, you can switch between chats with Ctrl + Tab.
