Cursor is an amazing evolving application that I use more and more everyday.
Because I am often outside with my IPad and would like to continue my work there I wanted to ask if there is the possibility of a Cursor IPad app in the near future?
Imagine using Cursor on your iPad on the couch to coordinate a fleet of agents while the app builds itself, with the output projected onto your TV.
Maybe the way real ai-multiplayer development happens: Cursor deeply integrates a task management system like Linear (but not over MCP) and agents divvy up tasks and work independently like real engineers.
On your iPad you could queue up new tasks or leave comments for the long-running agent to pick up and adjust.
As a workaround I use the iPad app Jump Desktop to access my Macbook Pro from my iPad and it works decently well. You just have to set your Desktop to never sleep if using for extended periods.
My solution has been using Termius (on my a iPad Mini, or even iPhone), and cursor-agent.
Works well enough for now! A bit laggy sometimes but good for simple vibe coding sessions. I’ve been using it to tinker with my homelab. Biggest drawback is no ability to (easily) upload files like screenshots.
Hey all, my setup is when I’m out and about, I leave my MacBook Pro at home running Tailscale + jump desktop. I then connect to my MacBook Pro via jump desktop over Tailscale from my iPad Pro with KB and its basically like working at my desktop. I have hot keys in jump desktop to switch between my dual monitors that are are attached to my MacBook Pro.
When i return home, cursor IDE is exactly in the state that I left it from my iPad session.
The iPad runs cooler outdoors, but does require at least good LTE mobile internet - i usually hotspot from my iPhone.
Peace of mind is that if my iPad is lost or stolen when I’m out, I don’t lose my MacBook or my uncommitted code.
I also use my iPad when I’m also sitting in different places in the house.
Yes, the screen is smaller, but jump desktop support retina remote display so everything is relatively sharp. And honestly, as believe we all do, we’re writing way less code now - I’m mostly conducting from my ‘device’
