Is it Normal that each day i spent 2+ hours working through Cursor issues?

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

Today I updated to the latest “update” offered, since things were not working as they were yesterday.

Rather than get to look at the new features or explore, i get hit with “Unable to Connect to Model Provider” - we are using AUTO.

Come on Guys at Cursor! Can we get a page to see what the status of the backend connectivity/links from Cursor are at?

its pretty sad when ChatGPT works, Grok and others work direct and then we see this 'Unable to connect to Model provider" message try again..

How long should we try again for? Minutes, Hours? Just “hope that today it works?”

finding it harder and harder to justify using your tool when each time I do, rather than doing my work, im spending time debugging your application.

How about some Love for people who are paying for it?

its pretyt bad, that its October 30th at 11am local time and i am running an update that was pushed at Oct 29th at 20:45 UTC (so really, less than 12 hours ago) and nothing today..

While its great to have a Bug Forum - where is the evidence that you guys are paying attention, let alone giving a bit of understanding of the frustration you are creating.??

Steps to Reproduce

Use Auto and ask a question.

Expected Behavior

It should work, i should get “Try again later messages” with a simple stack trace to whatever back is using - that should not be the “context” of the end user.

Does this stop you from using Cursor

Yes - Cursor is unusable

Looking at the “status page” - it doesnt seem timely nor accurate.. since it says “no issues” today - however, the Auto function hasnt worked all morning! .. .

I wonder, is this information meant to be something to rely on, or is it window dressing - for example, yesterday was marked as “partial outage” - however, lets be honest, if your model interfaces arent working, then really - your application is “dead” and its a fully outage..

There is really “no benefit” to say “the IDE is working” when the backend services are totally hosed..

grrrr…. seriously, with the money and people - perhaps rather than UI redesigns, you can work on some quality issues, so that each day you drop a update, its not a new mess.

you need to start to have better Testing and Rollout practices, perhaps setup a couple channels (stable and preview) so you can fix things before you ‘smash the entire user base”?

grrr!!!

As mentioned here, is this only for older chats or new chats too?
