I’ve paid for the Cursor Pro Yesterday, I’ve been using some auto and some Opus 4.5, and I reached quickly the limit. It is okay because I wrote a lot in the chat, but the biggest and very disappointing issue is that credits reset ONLY at the NEXT BILLING PERIOD. Cursor make something, you are about to loose a lot of clients because of this. I absolutely can’t believe I am the only person in this situation…

If you used up the included $20 of usage in a day, that means you were using Agent a lot. For context, Pro includes $20 of API usage, but stats show daily Agent users usually spend $60–$100 per month. If you use Agent regularly plus premium models (Auto + Opus 4.5), you’ll burn through the limit fast.
Credits reset at the start of the next billing cycle. That’s the standard subscription setup. After you hit the limit, you’ve got a few options:
- On-demand usage: you can keep using Cursor after the limit, and it’ll be billed monthly at the same API rates
- Upgrade: Pro Plus (includes $70) or Ultra (includes $400) if your usage is consistently higher
- Optimize: switch from Auto to cheaper models, and avoid Max Mode unless you really need it

Its a shame that even ultra does not get any model for free especially the composer ( cursors model! )
Don’t pat attention to the silly rationale Cursor is foisting on you. You are absolutely right. For $20 you should get more than 10 hours of “heavy” use a month. With Claude Code you’ll get a reset every 5 hours. I find that I use up my Claude Code credits in 2 or 3 hours, so with the resets I’m getting 4 to 6 hours per day for $20 a month. Open AI Codex is the same as Claude.

Could not agree more. Having a monthly usage limit and not having any way of knowing you’re about to hit it is an absolutely unacceptable way to do business. Canceling this in favor of Claude because waiting an entire month to get more usage or having this thing pop up with it’s hand out every few hours is absolutely abhorrent.
