Describe the Bug

Issue Summary

When using Cursor Agent in a browser with Japanese IME (Input Method Editor), pressing the Enter key to confirm Japanese character conversion unintentionally submits the chat message instead of just confirming the conversion.

Environment

  • Platform: Browser version of Cursor Agent
  • OS: macOS 24.6.0 (also affects Windows)
  • Browser: Edge 139.0.3405.125

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open Cursor Agent in browser
  2. Start typing in Japanese using IME
  3. Type some Japanese characters that require conversion (e.g., “こんにちは”)
  4. Press Enter key to confirm the conversion
  5. The chat message is submitted immediately instead of just confirming the conversion

Expected Behavior

  • Pressing Enter should only confirm the Japanese character conversion
  • The chat should not be submitted until explicitly intended (e.g., Shift+Enter or Ctrl+Enter)

Actual Behavior

  • Enter key both confirms the conversion AND submits the chat message
  • This makes it impossible to write multi-line messages in Japanese
  • Users cannot review their message before sending

Steps to Reproduce

When using Cursor Agent in a browser with Japanese IME (Input Method Editor), pressing the Enter key to confirm Japanese character conversion unintentionally submits the chat message instead of just confirming the conversion.
