I just started using Cursor, but I’ve been running into some annoying issues when using Agent mode. Has anyone else experienced this?
Wrong file modification: Sometimes, when coding for a while, I ask the Agent to modify a file different from the one I currently have open. However, it applies the changes to the wrong file. For example, if I’m in index.html but request changes in index.php, the Agent still tries to apply the modifications to index.html (even though it can’t). Then, when I switch to index.php, the changes don’t apply anymore, forcing me to rewrite my request and waste extra tokens.
Agent stops responding: Occasionally, the Agent just stops replying, no matter how many times I send a request. The only way to fix it is to create a new conversation, which is frustrating and disrupts the workflow.
I’m wondering if this is because Cursor doesn’t automatically switch to the correct file, or if I need to configure something to prevent these issues? Does anyone know a fix for this? If there’s a setting to make the Agent apply changes to the intended file or a way to keep the conversation active without restarting, I’d really appreciate the help!
