It would be amazing if agent could set breakpoints, step through the code as it needs, inspect call stack, variables etc.
I found an extension that allows such behavior: GitHub - jasonjmcghee/claude-debugs-for-you: Enable any LLM (e.g. Claude) to interactively debug any language for you via MCP and a VS Code Extension
Attached video is from this repository, for a showcase what I am talking about.
However based on my testing, this extension is highly imperfect and it would be a game changer if there was a first party support for such thing. I do not see any other competitor with such capabilities.

+1 This feature would be a game changer. I find bisecting problems to be very effective with Cursor: Imagine if that could be automated with Dynamic Analysis.

I thought this other extension could have been used, but I can’t find it in the Cursor Extension tab: DebugMCP - Visual Studio Marketplace

very much unfortunate, for me this is good enough reason to move off of cursor, idk might consider
