Login failed on Windows 11

I clicked the login button on the cursor app, opened the browser, and successfully logged in. However, there was no response when I returned to cursor. I can use cursor on the browser (I have purchased a subscription) and it works on my Mac

I hope someone can help me. I have two computers and need to switch between workspaces
Thank!!

Does this stop you from using Cursor?

  • Yes - Cursor is unusable
  • Sometimes - I can sometimes use Cursor
  • No - Cursor works, but with this issue

The more details you provide, the easier it is for us to reproduce and fix the issue. Thanks!

Hey, thanks for the report. From the screenshots, I can see the browser says “All set!”, but the app stays on the Log In screen. Browser and Mac work, so your account is fine. The issue is that the login handoff back to the Windows app isn’t going through.

The app only listens for the auth response for a short time after you click Log In, so a quick re-login usually fixes it:

  • In Cursor, click Log In again to start a fresh attempt.
  • Finish login in the browser tab that just opened, not an older one, and do it quickly within a couple of minutes. Since cursor.com is already logged in, it’s usually a single click on “Yes, Log In”.
  • If Cursor sends a verification code to your email, check spam, enter the code, then repeat step 1 and go through the flow quickly again.
  • Keep your network and VPN stable during those couple of minutes. If you use a VPN, try without it.

If it still doesn’t work, send your Cursor version: Menu > About Cursor > Copy, and let me know if you’re using a VPN or a corporate proxy. A similar case with an extra workaround is discussed here: Desktop app stuck on login screen after successful browser authentication

Let me know how it goes.
