Lost my chat history for not saving the project

Description

I just closed the whole editor without saving the project that I’m working on, without realizing that chat histories are stored with project. Does this mean I cannot recover my previous chat histories any more?

Have you tried reopening it and manually open the folder your project resides in?

yeah, I have opened several folders in my original workspace. After closing the editor without saving the workspace, I opened one of the folders I’m working on, unfortunately it does not show my chat history

That is unfortunate.

Just make sure that you check the Recent Projects section on a New Window, or the Open Recent menu option. You should have a list of all folders that Cursor has generated content for. At the moment, I am not aware of how this data is stored exactly, for example there is a lot of stuff in

~/.config/Cursor/User/History
