Currently, switching to or from Auto mode is unnecessarily cumbersome.
Instead of behaving like a regular model selection, Auto requires a separate toggle mechanism — which introduces friction and slows down the workflow.
Here’s a typical scenario:
In the middle of a conversation, I switch to Auto mode for lightweight tasks like summaries or quick suggestions. Then I want to switch to a more advanced (and expensive) model for deeper analysis or complex editing.
Every time, I have to manually exit Auto mode and reselect another model. This involves extra clicks and waiting — again and again.
But why?
From a user’s perspective, Auto should behave just like any other model in the selection dropdown — with a single click to switch to or from it, just like switching between O3 and Claude.
Please remove the special toggle and treat Auto as a regular selectable model.
This would significantly streamline multi-model workflows
